Below you will find art responding to the Third Man Records/Mingering Mike project we've been working on for several weeks. We imagined that Jack White the founder of Third Man Records located in Nashville,TN came to each artist at school and said he'd like to record their band but they each had to be their own Graphic Designer and create their own art/design for their record cover and label. We said "no sweat" because Mingering Mike showed us how to invent our own band, lyrics, song titles and logos so we told Mr. White "we'll do it"! Oh but one more thing. Jack White said all of our record projects needed to be connected to math in some way, shape or form. Just like his label 3rd Man Records is. Again, not a problem because we understand here how math and art are as interconnected as art and design or math and music amongst a million other connections and counting. We hope you enjoy looking at our inventions! We think they ROCK! This is of course all hypothetical and none of it really happened. Except the part where we made awesome records. That definitely happened.

Architecture
Students work as teams to try and build the tallest, coolest buildings they can WITHOUT arguing and fussing at each other. It's harder than you'd think(especially with grown up architects)!
On October 25th from 5:30-6:45pm the 4th grade artist at Neely's Bend Elementary School celebrated Artober by hosting the Red Grooms Coffee House. 4th graders constructed the Coffee House, decorated it and the Gymnasium with paintings inspired by Red Grooms water colors by all of the students(k-4) at NBES. The 4th graders staffed the coffee house for the evening and made sure all customers had food and drinks while they enjoyed open mic performances by students k-4th grade. Below are some details of a few of the wonderful paintings made by NBES artists during Artober.
